County Londonderry has an active beekeeping community with a strong show tradition. Roe Valley Beekeepers' Association, based near Limavady, has held more than thirty annual honey shows, and its schedule includes classes for ling heather honey. In the city, Derry and District Beekeepers Association runs regular meetings, training and demonstrations, and you don't have to be a beekeeper to join.
