Ross-shire's listed producer works on a large scale. Struan Apiaries, run by the Robertson family at Conon Bridge, keeps around 500 hives and harvests about 15 tons of Highland honey a year: blossom honey from wildflowers in the hills and glens in spring, and heather honey from the moors of the Cairngorms National Park, where the bees are taken in late summer. As well as heather and blossom honey it sells a honey blended with malt whisky, online and through local retailers.
Dingwall & District Beekeepers Association, next door in Dingwall, was formed in 1925 and holds a honey show.
