Gates Apiary Project is an environmental initiative by Gates Garden Centre, based in Oakham, Rutland. The project was established to support pollinating insects and the crucial role they play in local ecosystems. The apiary was set up in collaboration with the Leicestershire & Rutland Bee Keeping Association, through whom Gates connected with an experienced beekeeper from Leicester who relocated 20 established hives to the garden centre site.
