Local Honey DunfermlineKin Bees47 Main St, Dunfermline, KY12 8NJRaw, unheated honey from Kin Bees, whose hives are in and around Dunfermline, including hives in Pittencrieff Park. Honey is only taken once the bees have capped the frames and have plenty in reserve; it is spun by hand, passed through a sieve and put straight into the jar.

The range changes with the season: spring blossom, summer wildflower, soft set, chunk honey with a piece of comb in the jar, and – in good years – a clover honey. The Pittencrieff Park honey comes only from the hives in the Glen and is made in very small batches. There is also a chilli-infused hot honey and 3kg catering buckets, and the wax goes into rolled and poured candles, tealights, lip and hand balms, wood balm and a tallow and honey skin balm. Kin honey has won first prize at the Scottish Honey Championships at the Royal Highland Show.

Kin Bees is an online shop: orders are posted, or local customers can choose click and collect from Kin HQ at Crossford. The products are also sold at Abbot House on the Maygate in Dunfermline and on Kin's stall at the Dunfermline City Artisan Market outside the Abbey Church.
