South Lakes Honey Company is a family-run business based at Cowran Estate, Pennington near Ulverston in the Furness area of NW Cumbria. The apiary sits within a picturesque agricultural farm and education centre, surrounded by a native apple tree orchard, natural streams, and flourishing horticultural sites — an ideal environment for their bees. The company is run by beekeeper and director Joe Lydon, with Tracy Simpson handling accounts and admin. They produce honey in small batches to preserve its unique flavour and quality, and also collaborate with other local Cumbrian and Northern English
