The Sussex Bee is run by Lia Markwick, a beekeeper with a lifelong connection to the craft, having learned from her father who has kept honeybees for over fifty years. Lia established her own colonies in 2014 and has since grown her operation to over 20 hives. Her traditional wooden beehives are situated in ancient woodland in the village of Ansty, West Sussex, overlooking two naturally seeded wildflower fields. The diversity of local flora is directly reflected in the flavour of her honey, with each hand-poured batch unique in taste and showcasing seasonal variations of the Sussex countryside
