Local Honey NewtownhamiltonThese Little Hives HoneyNewtownhamilton, BT35 0LXHoney from These Little Hives, a small Northern Irish beekeeping business run by Nicole, with apiaries in the countryside around Newtownhamilton, Forkhill, Poyntzpass and Newry in south Armagh and County Down. It began in 2018 when her father-in-law left two hives in her front garden; they have since grown to nearly 40 colonies.

The bees forage on wildflowers, clover and hedgerows, and the honey is extracted, filtered by hand and jarred at home. The range includes natural (runny) honey, soft-set honey, heather honey and cut comb. Nicole also makes hand-poured and hand-rolled candles from her own beeswax – everything from pillars to seasonal shapes – and sells beeswax bars and blocks and honey and candle gift sets.

The honey is stocked at Clarkhill Farm in Mullaghbawn, Killeavy Castle Estate, Bessbrook Butchers & Delicatessen, Mountview Farm Meats and Park Butchers in Newtownhamilton, and Primrose Coffee House near Armagh. Clarkhill Farm also takes it to farmers' markets in Dundalk and Skerries.
