The family's beekeeping goes back to Jason's grandfather Gerald, who took up bees during the Second World War to add honey to the rations. Jason's father Colin kept bees while working at the local colliery and turned to them full-time during the miners' strike of the 1980s, building his own hives. Jason put on his first bee suit at six and grew up collecting swarms with his father for the local council.

The range covers clear wildflower honey, set honey and chunk honey, pure beeswax blocks and candles, and honey and candle gift boxes. Honey can be ordered online and the apiary makes local deliveries.
