Local Honey Barry, by CarnoustieDalmore CroftStation Road, Barry, Barry, by Carnoustie, DD7 7RSClear and soft-set honey from Dalmore Croft, a 12-acre smallholding at Barry, near Carnoustie in Angus, run as a small mixed farm by Rosemary and Dan Champion.

The croft keeps four colonies of honeybees, which forage in its apple orchard, its vegetable, fruit and flower gardens, and on the surrounding farms and countryside. Honey is only taken when the hives have a surplus, with enough left for the bees to get through the winter, and comb honey is sometimes available too.

Rosemary and Dan moved to Dalmore in 2010. Alongside the honey they sell free-range eggs from an honesty box at the farm entrance, Shetland beef, lamb, hogget and mutton from their Coloured Ryeland sheep, apples from the orchard between September and February, and yarn from their own flock.

Dalmore is on Station Road in Barry, the last property on the left before the railway crossing – there is also a Station Road in Carnoustie, which some satnavs head for.
