Goitre Fach was founded in 2019, after a move to a house with enough land for hives, and its founder learned bee farming and queen rearing from an experienced local bee farmer. The queens are reared and mated in the farm's own mating apiaries in West Wales rather than imported, and overwintered and spring nucs are sold for collection from the farm.

The honey comes from the farm's own apiaries. Goitre Fach is the official honey supplier to Swansea City FC, and businesses and individuals can sponsor a hive through its Adopt a Hive scheme, which includes jars of Goitre Fach wildflower honey.
