Local Honey GreyabbeyLoughshore Apiary (Vee's Bees)20 Portaferry Road, Greyabbey, BT22 2RUHoney and beeswax products from Loughshore Apiary near Greyabbey in County Down, where Valentine and Chris have kept native Irish black bees (Apis mellifera mellifera) since 2004. Their apiaries are spread across the Ards Peninsula, and the honey comes from flowers within about three miles of the hives.

The honey – sold under the name Bee Sweet – is harvested in late summer and only in small amounts, so it isn't always available. There is a summer honey and, in some years, a winter honey. Most of what Vee's Bees make uses their own honey and wax: moisturisers, body butter, lip balms, a lavender balm, hand lotion, goat's milk and honey soap, and pure beeswax candles, all made in small batches at the apiary. Gift packs are available and lip balms can be made as wedding favours.

Products can be ordered through their website and posted to the UK and EU. Valentine and Chris also run three-hour beekeeping experience sessions at the apiary, with gift vouchers available.
