Cambridge honey comes from rooftops as well as fields. Bee & Bird is run by Jack Silberrad, a bee farmer since 2017; his locally adapted queens head colonies on city rooftops and rural field boundaries, including apiaries managed for city businesses such as the Grand Arcade. He times harvests to capture Cambridgeshire's changing seasons, and sells runny honey, cut comb and beeswax direct and to delis and food producers. Cambridge Honeybees, in the Coleridge area of the city, sells local honey with propolis and beeswax, and puts the emphasis on local bees and rescuing wild colonies. Caldecote Honey is a small producer in the village of Caldecote, about six miles west of the city.
The Cambridgeshire Beekeepers' Association holds its honey show just outside the city, on the Fenland Country Fair ground at Stow-cum-Quy.
