Gloucestershire honey comes from two quite different landscapes. On the Cotswolds, Harry's Honey keeps hives around Cheltenham, Winchcombe and out towards Cirencester, and Cotswold Bees, with apiaries across the North Cotswolds, specialises in comb honey. West of the Severn, Wye Valley Apiaries at Upper Redbrook moves its bees along the River Wye, from broadleaf woodland in the south through orchards and white clover to the heather moors above the Elan Valley.
Gloucestershire Beekeepers' Association holds its County Honey Show each year alongside its spring lecture day, and with the Herefordshire and Worcestershire associations runs the Bees and Honey Show at the Royal Three Counties Show in Malvern.
Buying varies: Harry's Honey is stocked by shops, cafés and a butcher around Cheltenham, Prestbury and Winchcombe; Cotswold Bees sells its comb honey online rather than from its Mickleton base; and Honey Corner near Chipping Campden sells honey at the end of its bee experience days.
