Ernespie Farm is a family-run dairy farm rooted in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway, since 1947. The beekeeping operation is led by Brian McMicken, who learned the craft from his mother and now tends to 16 hives with the same respect and care she instilled in him. Brian keeps a docile breed of bees that are easy to handle and well-suited to the surrounding countryside. The honey and honeycomb produced at Ernespie reflect Brian's skill and patience, and are sold in the farm's on-site gift shop.
