Sheffield's honey comes from two quite different landscapes: the city's gardens, parks and green spaces, and the moors and valleys of the Peak District to the west. Sheffield Honey keeps around 300 hives across the city and in the Hope Valley. Its range runs from blossom, borage and apple orchard honey to bell heather and ling heather. It has its own shop at the University of Sheffield Students' Union and is stocked in shops around the city and the Peak District. Haskins Honey is a husband-and-wife team in south Sheffield with hives across the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire borders. They sell raw honey online, with pick-up by appointment, and empty jars can be returned for reuse.
Sheffield Beekeepers' Association runs a members' honey show with a class for heather honey. It also holds monthly meetings and runs beginners' courses.
